May 6, 2007 -- Durango, CO

With the conclusion of the Western Junior Team Trials, two things became very obvious. First, the USA will be well represented by our kayakers at the Junior World Championship and we should congratulate them. Second, we have a narrow widow of opportunity to recruit qualified racers for the C-boat classes (read on).

In the kayak classes, both the men's and the women's trials were extremely competitive at both the East and the West Team venues. As a result, we have fielded a full team that should stack up well if they continue to train hard.

In the canoe classes, C-1 racer Craig Adams is training hard and continues to improve. To date, he is the sole canoeist of the team. The remaining C-boaters in the USA are about to let a once in a lifetime opportunity to race at the World Championships on their home soil slip right through there fingers. USA Wildwater will allow for the 7 reaming open slots to be filled by petition through May 31. For more information please see: www.usawildwater.com/news/2007/070204_bylaws_change.html

Please congratulate the 2007 Junior World Championship Team:
