January 4, 2006 -- Atlanta, GA

The Third Annual Chute (the Atlanta Metro) Hooch Wildwater Training Camp is scheduled for January 21-22, 2006. The Training camp will be held in the Roswell/Atlanta GA area. Last year's camp was a blast and was well attended by racers of varying skill levels. The mild Hotlanta winter weather and some great training areas for flatwater and easy whitewater make an excellent venue. Coaches will include many time USA Team members Chris Hipgrave and John Pinyerd and we are working on other guest coaches.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
We will be able to accommodate a wide range of racing skill levels. This camp is well suited for Juniors and new or developing racers. Accomplished paddlers interested in trying Wildwater (especially those from other USACK disciplines) and Wildwater Team members (Jr and Sr) in the region should plan on attending. All attendees must be able to self rescue on flatwater (Sat) and up to class II whitewater on Sunday.

COST:
Like all USA Wildwater training camps, there are no fees for the camp, only the requirement that participants are USACK members. Please be prepared to show your USACK card. Please contact www.USACK.org should you need to join USACK.

ACCOMMODATIONS:
Some home stays are available (please RSVP). Otherwise, the Roswell GA (30075), Marietta/Smyna GA (30067, 30068) area of North Atlanta area plush with accommodations.

SCHEDULE:
Saturday Jan 21st: Atlanta Rowing Club Dock, 500 Azalea Drive, Roswell GA 30075 (also suitable for flatwater racers)

  • 10:00 - Flatwater Session and Video
  • Noon - Lunch and Video Review
