July 2, 2014 -- Skykomish River, Washington by Marin Millar |
The US Western Team Trials returns to the famous Skykomish river in Washington on October 17-19. This is going to be a fabulous course! The Skykomish river is a classic Northwest pool-drop river. The classic course will start from below Boulder Drop to Fisherman’s Rapid. It starts off with 3 Class III rapids, with nice pools in between. Then there’s about 2-3 minutes of Class I-II, until the Class III Railroad bridge rapid and then another few minutes of Class I-II before finishing off in the Class III Fisherman’s Rapid. There will be 2 sprint races, on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The first will be in Fisherman’s Rapid, and the second will be above Big Eddy. The Skykomish is a naturally flowing river, water levels can vary, but don’t worry! We have a contingency plan in case water levels don’t cooperate. Will be posting video and more info soon, but feel free to contact me with any questions. Marin Millar - marin.millar@outlook.com |
