February 27, 2011 -- Bryson City, NC

Thanks to those that participated in the 2011 Glacier Breaker and training camp on the Nantahala River.

It was great to see so many new faces. The weather was incredible and the water showed up despite a few concerns earlier in the week. 2011 marked the addition of a sprint race to this historical event. The sprint race started at Donnie Dutton park and finished just upstream of Nantahala Falls, offering racers two full minutes of lung busting racing. And the sprint did not disappoint to sort out the race order early on and dish out a little drama to a few.

The historical classic race on Sunday did little more than reinforced the order of things after 20 minutes of tackling the infamous Nantahala shallows. Thanks again to all those that participated.
