The 41st annual Southeastern Wildwater Championships will take place on Sunday September 27th, 2009 on the Nantahala River,
in Wesser, North Carolina. The Wildwater Championships will be a mass start race commencing mid morning and will run the
full 8.2 miles from the rafting put-in just below the Duke Power powerhouse to "Finish line Rock" just upstream of the
Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC). There will be the usual classes and everyone is encouraged to participate in just about
anything that floats. Anyone breaking the course record will receive $100 from USA Wildwater and special awards will be
given to the fastest C1, fastest female and fastest OC2.

- C-2 - David Jones and Mike Hipsher, 45:11, 1989;
- OC-1 - Angus Morrison, 50:12, 1983.
The 41st Southeastern Wildwater Championships will be held in conjunction with the NOC's Guest Appreciation Festival
which will feature the used gear sale, gear marketplace, blowout deals, games, clinics and contests, live music and the
International Whitewater Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Plenty of fun for the whole family!
