October 27, 2008 -- Point Pleasant, PA
This coming weekend will see the final race in the Mid-Atlantic Downriver Series (MADS) on Tohickon creek in sunny PA.
The cash prize for the overall winner of the series is still up for grabs, with double points available in the races.
The Tochikon Creek was the site of the 2001 Wildwater Team Trials and offers technical whitewater racing of a ledgy
nature that requires precision boat handling (i.e. I'm terrible there!). On Saturday, around 3.30pm, we will hold two
sprint runs through the "Slalom Course" rapid, a 100-105 second sprint. On Sunday around 11.30am we will hold a
Classic Race from bridge to bridge, a run of 21-24 minutes.
Please drop me a line if you will be coming - I'll be there paddling whether we have enough people to race or not, but
hopefully we will have more folks turn up than at the Savage.
Cheers Chris
