NRC Glacier Breaker Camp and Race

The annual Nantahala Racing Club, Glacier Breaker wildwater race will take place Sunday January 24th, 2008 in Wesser, NC. This classic only race will start at the Ledges and end at the road bridge at the Nantahala Outesor Center approximately 3.5 miles downstream. Winning times will be approximately 20 minutes and whitewater is class 2-3 which includes Nantahala Falls, just above the fining line. Average high temperatures in February are 53F with lows of 24F with water temperatures in the mid-40'sF buteslease check the weather before coming to western NC as it can be a mixed bag this time of year. Thanks to the continued generous support of Duke Energy, we have training water scheduled Friday 8:00am - 2:00pm, Saturday 6:00am - 2:00pm and Sunday 8am-12:00pm. Additional releases can be confirmed by visiting www.nantahalapower.com/lakes/generation/.
