May 30, 2007 -- Seattle, WA
For the 45th consecutive year, the Washington Kayak Club brings you the annual Bottoms-Up Regatta featuring the always
well-attended downriver race on Saturday, June 2, 2007 in eastern Washington.
Last year featured 15 wildwater boats on the Cle Elum river battling to take home the Ray G. Barker Challenge Trophy. (See
www.nwwhitewater.org and scroll part way down to see the smiling paddlers........).
Names on this coveted award date back to 1968. Last year Rodney Rice took first, but he'll be in Europe for the first World
Cup, so sharpen your paddles....the prize could be yours!
Practice runs on Friday afternoon - 5:00 pm? Please contact Jennie at
theleague@nwwhitewater.org if you can make it.
Sprints will be held at 11:00 am Saturday and will start at the slalom start. The Classic - 4 miles of class II+ - will
start at 3:00 pm. For complete event information, see
www.nwwhitewater.org/2007/SalmonLaSac07.htm.
Great camping, evening campfire event, mega-sunshine, kid's race and scavenger hunt, and a slalom race on Sunday make this
a weekend for the entire family! besides being your last chance to race before leaving for the 2nd World Cup in Europe.........
