May 19, 2007 -- Marietta, GA
I'm very proud of this years USA Team. We have a wonderful mix of veterans and new comers.
Our best hope for a visit to the podium is likely C-1 racer Tom Wier, who has ranked in the Top 10 best racers in the solo canoe
class for the past four years in a row. Tom is a true leader both on and off the course.
We also look forward to the leadership of veteran racer and USACK High Performance Director Chris Hipgrave who will be joining
the team at World Cups 5-6 in ITA. Chris is a tremendous distance athlete and was the winner of the classic distance race at this
years USA Team Trials.
Veteran master's racer, Team Manager, and Vice-Chairman, Doug Ritchie will be getting the scoop for us for next years World
Championships which will be held at the ITA venue (and will include a Master's race). Doug amazingly is within a few second of
Hipgrave in the classic distance race.
Please join me extending your best wishes to the 2007 USA Wildwater Team:
