February 7, 2007 -- Almond, NC
The NRC Glacier Breaker has been upgraded from a Double Header Race to also serve as a
training camp. The race/training camp should be considered a "must attend" for any
racers (and propective racers) in the area. This is especially true for any Juniors
who are considering racing at the East Junior Team Trials.
We are adding training on Saturday and Sunday afternoon in addition to the races
covered by the schedule at: www.usawildwater.com/news/2007/070130_NRC_Glacier_Breaker.html.
A couple highlights are:
- Sat afternoon - Sprint Race Training on the Nanty - Patton's Run
(site of the East Jr Team Trials Sprint)
- Sun afternoon - Classic Race Training on the Nanty - US Open/East Jr
Team Trails Classic Course).
A special thanks goes to Chris Hipgrave (USACK Director of Olympic High Performance
Sports, and many time Wildwater Team Member and National Champion) for helping to pull this
together and serving as head coach. No one on this planet knows the K-1 foward stroke
or the Nanty better than Chris. We are very lucky to catch Chris when he will be in
Bryson City. Yours truly will serve as an assistant coach.
We can possibly use some help with video, and on the water coaching, so let me know if
you can volunteer.

For additional information or if you would like to volunteer to help with the races
contact the NRC office at (828) 488-2176 ext. 108, or e-mail:

And most of all, please be there! Let me know how I can help!
