September 6 -- Ohiopyle, PA
The Eighth Annual American Whitewater Ohiopyle Over-the Falls Festival was held on August 26th. The festival included a sprint
race, a freestyle event, and an upstream race (on Entrance Rapid on the Lower Youghiogheny River).
Overall Winner of the Oliver Cup was Geoff Calhoun of Bethesda Maryland. Geoff also won the Upstream Race and had the
fastest time in the short boat division in the Falls Race. Other wildwater competitors in the sprint race included Middy Tilghman (2nd),
Rodney Rice (3rd), Jason Sullivan (5th) and Ryan Kenner (42nd).

Editor's note: Geoff reported that he dislocated his shoulder creeking on Difficult Run (a creek on the Virginia side)
yesterday evening. It looks like he won't be paddling for a while. The wildwater scene won't be the same without him.
