Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

We are more than half way through February and I, personally, can't wait for the month to be over. I'm getting tired of snow and cold weather. There is about 2 feet of snow on the ground at our house and more on the way. My wife and I are running away from home tomorrow - for a long weekend with our son, daughter-in-law and our two granddaughters in Colorado. From there we fly to southern Arizona to bask in the sun and warmth. By the time we get home, there will only be one day left in February. Enough about me. Now for the news about Wildwater.

The "Glacier Breaker and Team Trials Training Camp" is only 10 days from now. For more about this event, check out the article on USAWildwater.com at www.usawildwater.com/news/2009/091214_Glacier_Breaker.html. The registration form and race schedule can be found on the Nantahala Racing Club website (http://www.nrcrhinos.com/) or go directly to them at:

In other news, Wildwater was well represented in the First Annual Tuck Gorge Race held on February 6th. Chris Osment's article reminds us that Wildwater racers are willing to brave the elements to compete and have fun.

Finally, USA Wildwater has budgeted $7,000 to support the 2010 World Championships/World Cup Team! This is more than 1/3 of our total budget for 2010. We hope that our sponsors will be able to help make this come true for the 2010 Team. Anyone who wishes to help us provide for USA Wildwater Team (and/or coaching, training camps, and development) can make a (tax deductible) donation to USA Wildwater through our national governing body, USA Canoe/Kayak. The final article in this e-Zine tells how you can help support Wildwater Racing in the USA.
