Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

Congratulations to the 2009 U.S. Junior Wildwater Team for their efforts at the Junior World Wildwater Championships!!

You can learn more about the team and their exploits in the first 4 articles in this newsletter. I also want to express a special thanks to Chris Osment (Team Leader) and Mauricio Tognocci (Team Coach) for their hard work with the team. Thanks also to Haley Popp for writing an article to give us an athlete's perspective of the event and to the other adults and parents who made the event very special for our Junior athletes.

Next up on the international scene is the World Cup which will take place in Tasmania in late October. Tom Wier has been working hard on the logistics for the U.S. Team. See his article to learn who is on the team and a for links to keep up with the World Cup later this year.

We had some great National events this year - due in large part to the organizations that hosted the team trials and Nationals and the Wildwater Committee members who worked hard to make the events so great. Now we need to focus on the National events for next year.

The last article in this newsletter is the Request for Bids to host the 2010 National Events - the Senior Team Trials, Eastern Junior and Western Junior Team Trials, and the National Championships. Please help us secure the best possible bids for these events.
