Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

This is the final E-zine for 2008. It may be short, but it contains some very important information.

First is a reminder about the Fifth Annual Chute the Hooch Training Camp, which will be held in Atlanta on January 17-18. Now is the time to make your reservations. See the first article for details.

It is also time to mark you calendars for the U.S. National Junior Wildwater Team Trials. As is past years, these team trial will be held in 2 locations. The Eastern team trials are scheduled for March 28-29 on the Nantahala River in western North Carolina; the Western team trials are scheduled for April 25-26 on the Colorado River in the Glenwood Canyon area of Colorado.

Wondering where you stand in the U.S. Wildwater rankings for this year? See the link to the final rankings in this E-zine. Note that the last page of the rankings includes a description of the methodology that was used to calculate the rankings. This methodology was published in an article on July 2nd, so it should not be new news to anyone. If you are wondering which races are included in the rankings, look at the second column in the 2008 Wildwater Calendar. It contains an asterisk for each event for which I have results.

As we approach the end of another Wildwater year, it is also time to reflect on this year and time to think about next year. Our last article presents the highlights and challenges as presented to the USACK Board. Thanks to John Pinyerd for pulling together this great summary.

Best wishes to you and your family during this holiday season and in 2009!!
