The USA Nationals were wonderful on the Dryway Section of the Deerfield. As advertised, Zoar did a fabulous job of organizing the event and gave away some super prizes (like Shred Ready helmets for 1st, Keen shoes for 2nd, and NRS tops for 3rd). In order to make the most of the prizes, Zoar did a nice job of creating additional classes as appropriate. In addition, we included our Canadian friends in the results and the prizes (as we should always do).

Please join us in congratulating the 2007 USA National Champions:

C-1: Tom Wier

K-1W: Tierney O'Sullivan (top USA finisher - both Jr and Sr National Champion)

K-1: Geoff Calhoun

C-2: Tom Wier/John Pinyerd

Juniors/Masters:

K-1 Jr: Peter Lutter

K-1W Master: Chara Whittemore

K-1 Master: David Jones

C-1 Master: Jamie McEwan

Read more about the Nationals and check out the results and the photos of our athletes in action in the first article in this e-Zine.

The USACK Wildwater Committee met at the Nationals. The minutes of the meeting are available at http://www.usawildwater.com/Committee_Minutes/Minutes_070824.htm.

Next in this e-Zine is a link to an awesome photo gallery featuring the USA Junior Team at the 2007 Junior World Championships.

We also have news about how well the USA Wildwater Team did in International competition (as reflected in the World Rankings for 2007) and how eight members of the team earned performance funding for their fine efforts at the World Cups and Junior World Championships.

Now we must look to next year!!

We need your help in securing race sites/organizers for our 2008/20099 Team Trials, Junior Team Trials, and the National Championships. The last article spells out what what we need and what we expect from the organizers who choose to bid for the events. The bids need to be submitted to John Pinyerd, Wildwater Committe Chairman, by November 1st.

Thanks to everyone who submitted articles, results and photos. Keep them coming!!
