There are only 11 more days to the start of the 2007 Junior Wildwater World Championships!!

The events are being hosted by the USA from July 17 through July 21 with the classic race on the Saluda River in Columbia, SC and the sprint race at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. Check out the official website for the World Championships at www.jwwc2007.com.

In more news about the Junior World Championships:

  • Volunteers are needed!! Learn more about how you can help in the first article in this E-zine.
  • Get a good deal on a wildwater boat!! Several of the teams from overseas will be selling their boats after the competition. These boats are in the USA so there is no cost for shipping. See the second article for more information.

The next major event will be the USA Wildwater Nationals. This event is being hosted by Zoar Outdoor on August 24-25 on he Deerfield River in western Massachussets. Check out the related article and stay tuned to www.usawildwater.com for more information.

Lest we forget, the Wildwater World Cup series just completed. This was a great opportunity for our Senior Wildwater Team to test their skills against other world class athletes on some really impressive courses. Jenny Goldberg finished 6th in K-1W in the Sprint event in Ivrea, Italy. She had the big water skill and was able to handle the very steep and powerful course at Ivrea. There's a link to a great video clip and some photos of Rodney Rice in action in this E-zine.

It's not too early to start thinking about and training for the Senior World Championships in 2008. The last article, by Doug Ritchie, sets the tone for training.

Please keep sending me new articles (and photos)!!
