Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

The U.S. Wildwater Team Trials are here!!

Thanks to a great race venue provided by the Nantahala Racing Club and the Nantahala Outdoor Center, the results from the Eastern Junior Team Trials are in. See the first article for a brief wrap-up of the event and a link to the overall results. The second article is about the young men and women who qualified and were selected to be on the 2007 U.S. Junior Wildwater Team. The article also includes a link to some great photos of the team members. Congratulations to these athletes and to all who competed!

The remainder of the Junior Team will be decided at the Western Junior Team Trials. Information about this event, to be held on May 4-6 on the Animas River in Durango, can be found in the next article.

The Junior Wildwater Team will represent the US at the 2007 Junior Wildwater World Championships - being held in mid-July in NC and SC (see www.jwwc2007.com/ for more about the Junior World Championships).

Those who no longer qualify as juniors should already have made their plans to be at the Senior Team Trials on April 13-15 on the Lower Youghiogheny River in western Pennsylvania. You can find the final schedule for this event in this E-zine. This event will determine the makeup of the US Senior Wildwater Team, who will have a chance to represent the USA during the 2007 World Cup Series in June in Europe. Preliminary information about the World Cups can also be found in this E-zine.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the "Chute the Channel" training camp. This event was originally scheduled for February, but it had to be rescheduled because of work at the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. It is extremely important for all Junior Team members to attend this event. The USNWC is the venue for the sprint races that are part of 2007 Junior Wildwater World Championships.

If you aren't tired of reading already, check out the last 2 articles.

Congratulations to those who already made the US Junior Team and good racing to those who will be competing in the Senior Team Trials and the Western Junior Team Trials.
