Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

There aren't many more wildwater races on the calendar for this year, but this is not the time to become a couch potato. Keep training and keep racing.

The first article in this issue, by John Pinyerd (U.S. Wildwater Committee Chair), gives us his perspective on what it takes to win gold in the World Championships. Also in this issue is some information about two races to be held in September - the "Moke" race in California and the "Animal Upper Gauley" race in West Virginia.

Check the USAWildwater calendar at www.usawildwater.com/races/2006RaceSchedule.pdf for more information about more wildwater races.

Happy paddling....
