Dear Wildwater Racers and Friends:

As the new editor and webmaster for USAWildwater.com, I thought that I should introduce myself. My name is Chuck Brabec and I am not a wildwater racer (boo, hiss). I quit hurrying when I retired a few years ago so racing is not high on my list. I am in my early 60s and I am a whitewater kayaker who also happens to enjoy messing around with my computer when I am not having fun on the river. Although you may not remember me, I was coordinating the starting line at the Team Trials on the Top Gauley this April. My wife, Nancy, and I also help Donnie Hudspeth with the timing for the Annual Animal Upper Gauley Race. Enough about me...

Check out Emily Stein's article on her experiences competing in the Junior Pre-World Championships in Italy. She definitely has her goals set for next year and the years to come. Also check out the new photos from the Junior World Championships at www.usawildwater.com/Photos/usjuniors.html.

We encourage you to continue your active involvement in our sport. The future looks bright for Wildwater and we hope you will continue to be a part of it.

Happy Labor Day!

Chuck Brabec
Editor & Webmaster, USAWildwater.com
