How I started paddling wildwater:
Geoff Calhoun took me to paddle Little Falls once and I swam so I decided I wanted to learn how this wildwater thing works.

Local and Regional results of note:

  • Second place in Cheat and Upper Yough Race 2008
  • First in Mid Atlantic Downriver Series.

National results (team trials and nationals)

  • Second place at the 2008 Nationals
  • Third at 2008 Team Trials

International Results:

  • 18th at Junior Pre-worlds 2008

    Years on US Wildwater National Team: Since I was 14 years old

    Other Paddling/Sports/Hobbies:
    Whitewater Slalom, Flatwater Sprint, River running, Soccer, Snowboarding, Sailing, Windsurfing, Photography, Biking, occasional playboating, and I’d like to get good at kite surfing one of these days.

    • What you do to get ready for a race: Listen to Techno, go over race lines in my head, and picture a fast run. Always think positive.
    • What you do after a race: Blow kisses to all the girls watching

    Equipment:

    • Boat (Make/model): Koelmann KCD, and a homemade Croatian Essox. I also have a Class VII Zastera Corvette in Switzerland right now (Thanks Mom and Dad)
    • Paddle: 216 Jantex Gamma Medium plus blades
    • Helmet: Shred Ready Shensu, complete with USA stickers
    • Spraydeck: IR
    • Life Jacket: Some old purpleish one but I’m hoping to upgrade to a Sandiline vest soon.
    • Paddling Clothes: I usually paddle skin to the wind but when I don’t its IR
    • Shoe: Level Six booties, but they’re close to wearing through
    • Car: My parent’s Volkswagon Passat but I’d like to get my on Volvo Cross Country at some point with tinted windows
    • Favorite energy bar/food: Definitely Clif Bars
    • Other outdoor gear: More boats, windsurfers, a sailboat, snowboard, bikes.
